Stay safe online

Based on the Cypercrime chapter in Unit 2, the pupils in their English lesson discussed the question of which rules to follow to stay safe online.

They focused on the "S-M-A-R-T" points, which were explained and discussed using examples. They also discussed how to create a secure password, how often passwords should be changed, and how to securely manage passwords. In addition, they also talked about image rights, copyright, and sharing posts, files or photos. The importance of regular updates to operating systems, programmes, and apps was also mentioned.

The pupils then shared their own online experiences, which led to the topic of "Digital Wellbeing" and the pressure that many young people face on social media accounts.

The unit ended with a reference to helpful websites on the internet.
